ChipDamage and RGCW - A Marvellous Team Up in the Making

I recently had a great meeting with the Chip Damage group, Winnipeg's Fighting Game Scene peeps. They're known for hosting awesome Fighting Game tournaments and housing some of the best competitive gamers in the city. We had a great talk about them hosting a tournament at our first event in 2014! I got some valuable advice and made a great connection. Despite our talks constantly going off topic, it was very productive! Thanks to Karel and Taylor from Chip Damage! Make sure to check out their Facebook page and follow them on twitter!

Stay tuned for more from Chip Damage and RGCWinnipeg!
ChipDamage and RGCWinnipeg Meet for the First Time
Most Friday nights, you can find Chip Damage at the University of Manitoba Science Lounge on campus. It's a great time for fighting game fans to get together and throw down! Unlike some "nieche" groups, ChipDamage is very open and inviting. Don't get me wrong, these are some of the most competitive and skilled fighting gamers in the city, but they're happy to give advice, exchange tactics and help you out.

I think this was from ChipDamage's Anime Fighting Game Tournament.
To be honest, I just googled it.

Just this past Friday, I met with Karel, the "man" that runs things (although he doesn't like the title, I think). For all intents and purposes, he is the main dude who organizes get togethers and tournaments. He was very receptive to our group's concepts and ideas and was happy to host a tournament with us (that is so awesome!).  I also met Taylor (I hope that's how he spells his name), the "zen man" who keeps Karel sane during the high stress times. Despite us going off topic to import movies and our significant others being bored to death, we clicked pretty well and made plans to meet again once RGCW's planning committee finalizes everything after Nov 30 2103. Thanks again to Taylor and Karel for their hospitality. I plan on going back and throwing down on some Street Fighter 4!
