The official RGCWinnipeg Planning Committee met this past weekend so we could finally, officially, announce our event April 5th 2014, #RetroGamersUnite. Aside from playing video games all night, we were able to finalize the important details for our first event and planned some great attractions. We've planned a great day of retro game goodness...

Here's a taste of what's planned for the day....

The Official RGCW Retro Challenges
Attendees will have chance to be immortalized in history and win great prizes! You can try to set the local record for 3 classic games (TBA) which we'll record on our website for future events. The best score gets the prize! Also, every attempt purchased enters you in to a draw for more prizes regardless of how you do (C'mon, you can't do as bad as Group Coordinator Ed! Level 1-1, 0 points!). 

Possible game challenge? We were busy all night setting our group's records!
Charity Silent Auction
Our main charity component! Donate either cash, good condition clothing or food, get ballots to enter into our silent auction style draws. The more you bring, the more you get (no limit)! We've secured lots of great prizes, so get those donations ready! 

Chipdamage Tournaments
Another great video game group from Winnipeg! They'll be hosting 3 (yes 3!) awesome retro game inspired tournaments for prizes! These tournaments will be officially announced February, so stay tuned and get ready... fighters!

Gaming is more fun with friends!
The Retro Video Game Lounge
"You can't play retro on no damn flat screen!" Well, our group will be lugging over the good old "boob tubes" and tons of retro video game consoles! Free to play, we'll have a great variety of games spanning from Retro to Current gaming. Challenge other local gamers in Mario Kart, try to save the princess (in one life), organize a mini Tecmo Super Bowl tournament, the possibilities are endless! We'll have more on this to come. 

Also featured: 2on2 Super Smash Tournament, all day vendors, food and more attractions to come! This promises to be an awesome day! Get ready to retro!
