Written by Nate Zoo Tycoon publisher Microsoft will donate $10,000 to a non profit voted by players for every developer challenge completed! I'm a big sucker for creative ways of supporting non-profits, especially when it involves video games! Until December 31 2013, Zoo Tycoon players will vote specific, in game challenges they want to complete in support of chairty. In the new year, Zoo Tycoon developers will release those challenges and once they are completed Microsoft will donate $10,000 to the voted charity! By Edward “24bit” Chirico 2013 was the year of Retro Gaming!!! (A pic of Nate's actual game room)        2013 was there year of Retro Gaming! We got to see remakes of games that we thought we would never see the light of day again.......Duck Tails might be one of the best capcom games of the NES’s (Nintendo Entertainment System) life span and we the new generation of gamers got to see this game in all its glory remade in beautiful HD. It didn’t stop there, we got remakes of Final Fight, Galaga, Wind Waker and Kingdom Heart’s just to name a few.  The virtual console is booming with the likes of Earth Bound, Super Metroid, Mario RPG, Secret of Mana and all the Final Fantasies. YouTube has been blowing up with retro game reviewers, pick up videos, and speed runs. People have been using these outlets to help donate to charities that reach number’s up to 200 000$ in a single week. This is something never thought possible 10 years ago. ...

Between us (RGCW), PNP Games and ChipDamage , we'll be announcing the official tournaments that we'll be holding at our April charity event Retro Hearts Winnipeg. Stay tuned to the Facebook page for the latest details and voice your opinion on what you would like to see this April.

A Retro Video Game Event for Charity In benefit of Light House Mission April 5th 2014, 11am-9pm Sturgeon Heights Community Centre 210 Rita St (Near PNP Portage) Admission: ONLY $5/person  (children 6 and under free) We'll be featuring an entire day of retro video game and related vendors, a large open retro gaming arcade, tournaments hosted by ChipDamage (Winnipeg's competitive fighting game group) and RGCW, prizes, a charity silent auction, food and more attractions to come! We'll be encouraging attendees to bring much needed supplies to help out Winnipeg's longest running homeless shelters (more details to be announced!). Mario 3D World is a great 3D platformer that utalizes the Wii U to its best capability. There are many new forms that Mario and company can turn into; there is a cannon form, a goomba form, and of course, the cat form. Meow! This new cat suit is quite frankly a dominator!
